First time volunteering?
Don’t worry — we’ll show you everything you need to know.
Home Ground Habitats is a nonprofit, volunteer-powered nursery dedicated to growing native plants and supporting habitat gardens throughout our community. Volunteers help with many aspects of the nursery and garden, from caring for young plants to assisting with seasonal projects and community events.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply curious about native plants, volunteering is a wonderful way to learn, meet others, and contribute to a healthier local ecosystem.
Home Ground Habitats also collaborates with schools, community spaces, and local organizations to support habitat gardening throughout Marin County.
Volunteers occasionally help with projects such as school garden installations, habitat planting days, and community restoration efforts. These projects bring people together while expanding the reach of native plants and wildlife-friendly landscapes.
Details about upcoming volunteer events and community projects are
listed on our Events & Community Days page.
If you would like to volunteer at Home Ground Habitats, please complete our volunteer waiver form before attending your first session.
We look forward to welcoming you to the nursery!
