Seasonal Workshops

Hands-on learning throughout the year on native plants, habitat gardening, and ecological practices.

Throughout the year, Home Ground Habitats offers seasonal workshops that explore different aspects of habitat gardening and ecological stewardship. These small, hands-on gatherings allow participants to learn directly in the gardens while observing how native plants, soil, water, and wildlife interact through the changing seasons.

Workshops may focus on planting strategies, pollinator support, soil health, or seasonal garden care. Each session combines practical instruction with time in the gardens, helping participants build confidence in creating thriving habitat landscapes at home.

What We Explore

Seasonal workshops may include topics such as:

  • Native plant selection for habitat gardens
  • Supporting pollinators and beneficial insects
  • Soil health and natural garden fertility
  • Seasonal planting and garden care
  • Seed collecting and plant stewardship
  • Water-wise gardening practices
  • Creating habitat for birds, butterflies, and other wildlife

Workshops are designed for gardeners of all experience levels who want to deepen their understanding of ecological gardening practices.

Learning Through the Seasons

Gardens are constantly changing, and each season reveals something new. By observing plants, insects, and soil through the year, participants begin to recognize natural cycles and understand how thoughtful gardening can support a thriving habitat.

Workshops emphasize curiosity, observation, and practical skills that help gardeners work with nature rather than against it.

A Nursery That Teaches

Our Learning Center offers plant propagation classes and hands-on learning opportunities. We partner with schools and organizations to help expand garden programs into thriving pollinator habitats.
